Western saddles are typically heavier and are larger than English saddles. Dressage saddles are longer in the flap making the size of the shipping box bigger. Items if can be are drop shipped from the company. Saddles maybe shrink wrapped to add an extra layer of protection. Relaxing the saddle may be necessary, to do this put the saddle on a rack and let it sit for a week or so. It can be used during this time. We do condition and oil the leather to maintain or restore the leather. When the saddles come into the store we ask the history of the saddle, sometimes it is know and sometime it is not know.
