This listing is for a complete bundled set which includes: 1 - Lunar Solo, 1 - 49" SMD Carbon Fiber Tent Pole, 1 - SMD Stake Set Single Entry, 1 - SMD Small Tyvek Footprint.Six Moon Design's Lunar Solo has a distinctive low hexagonal shape that easily spills the wind no matter the direction. Short steeply sloped sides handle snow or high winds with ease. A generous canopy covers a 26 sq. ft. sleeping area plus 8.5 sq. ft. of vestibule storage. The 48" peak height, set in the middle of the tent maximizes room for sitting and taking care of chores. The sleeping area is surrounded 6 inch deep bathtub floor, topped by 6 inches of mesh. This ensures excellent ventilation while keeping you separated from low canopy walls. This keeps you drier on those occasions when condensation forms on the canopy. The vestibule is set on the long side of the tent to maximize views and ventilation when fully open. Close it and you've got phenomenal protection from the worst storms. A 2012 redesign raised the canopy 3" to 48" and offset the pole, the result was considerably more headroom. Extending the floor to 90" and making end walls vertical enhances sleeping for taller individuals. The slight reduction in floor space is more than compensated for by better weather handling. With more vertical walls, the Lunar Solo easily sheds wind and snow.FeaturesFull Vestibule provides protection while still maintaining good ventilation when closed. Fully open, the vestibule maximizes ventilation and view.High Vent removes excess moisture build up.Zipper Vestibule Closure makes opening and closing the vestibule a snap.Single Piece Bathtub Floor makes a more watertight floor.Easy Tensioning Adjustment makes keeping your the tent taut a trivial task that can be accomplished while still in your sleeping bag. Re-tension straps have been added to all tie out points.Floating Canopy allows the canopy to be set to different heights.Floating Floor reduces floor stress and helps to minimize punctures from sharp objects.Optimized Sleeping Area is oriented to maximize usable space, ventilation and view. A peak height of 48 inches gives you plenty of head room.Center Pole Support significantly improves the ability of the tent to handle wind and snow loads.Single Hiking Pole Support reduces the amount of gear need.Internal Gear Area keeps your gear easily accessible.Oversized Screen Door allows easy entrance and exit while keeping the front pole out of your way.Ultra-light Waterproof Canopy is made from high strength 30 denier Silicone Nylon.Handy Mesh Cargo PocketExtremely Easy Setup in less than two minutes under any conditions.Specifications

Seam SealingThis tent is not seam sealed. The Lunar Solo is a Silicone Nylon tent. Over the last decade Silicone Nylon has proven its worth in ultralight shelters. Because Silicone Nylon fibers are infused in a coating of silicone, this fabric is both stronger and lighter than traditional tent fabrics. Since silicone is inert, it has the added benefit that it will never mold or mildew. The tight bond between the coating and fabric yarn insures that unlike traditional polyurethane coated fabrics, it will never delaminate. The downside is that seam tapes designed to work on polyurethane coated fabrics will not stick to silicone nylon. This requires you to hand seal the seams of the tent.To seam seal silicone nylon, you will need a silicone based sealer. The silicone in the sealer will form a permanent bond with the silicone in the fabric and once seam sealed, your tent will last for years. For Silicone Fabrics, we recommend using McNett's SilNet.
Detailed Setup InstructionsLunar Solo - The Perfect Pitch
Unlike a traditional tent, the Lunar Solo's canopy floats off the ground. This allows for 3600 of ventilation. Plus the floor is not rigidly fixed. It is designed to float. A floor under tension is more likely to rip or get holes poked in by sharp objects. This factors combine to make the Lunar Solo a bit more difficult to setup for the first time user. However, we've built a number of features in the tent to help get it setup correctly. Follow the instructions below and with a little practice you'll find the Lunar Solo easy to setup time and time again. Since your tent canopy floats, you can vary the height of your trekking pole depending upon conditions.  Higher will provide more ventilation and lower in stormy weather. The front of the tent should always be off the ground. This is to ensure that you have adequate ventilation. Optimum height of your trekking pole should be 49 inches or 124 centimeters for the newer models of the Lunar Solo 2012. Older moldels worked best with 45" poles. Setting the stakes in the proper order is one of the key elements in getting the perfect pitch. Look at the guide layout guide below to know where and in what order to set your stakes. Here are a few additional do’s and don’ts. Do’s Do extend the webbing guy-lines to their extent. Run the guy-lines all the way to the ground.Do set the stakes in the order listed above. Since the canopy floats off the ground on the top of the pole, it’s important to achieve a balance side to side and front to back.Do set the height of the front pole between 45 and 47 inches.Do close the vestibule before setting up the tent. This aide in getting the best alignment of the stakes.Do allow the canopy to rest for a half hour before re-tensioning the tent. This allow the fabric to relax.Do any additional tensioning with the adjuster on the main guyline, if needed.Don’ts Don’t try to raise the perimeter of the tent by using long stakes and terminating the guylines several inches off the ground. This is somewhat counter intuitive to normal logic. When you setup the tent this way, instead of the canopy and sidewall rising, they will tend to collapse instead. This will cause the corners to dip, resulting in reduced headroom and ventilation. The Lunar Solo, with its single pole and raised canopy, creates an incredibly light and airy shelter. Unlike other tents with fixed points of setup, the floating canopy and floor design does take a little more patience to master. Still, the Lunar Solo’s weight savings makes it well worth the effort.Warranty Our products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship.
