I've only used this compass for a few months. The hammer is more worn and the field pouch is maroon colored. The compass is in great shape- just has an engraving on one side with my name. This package would be great for any beginning geologist or field school student. The compass has a leather pouch of its own with a loop so it fits on your belt. I'll even throw in a couple of write-in-the-rain notebooks if the buyer likes.
