Estimated price for orientation: 575 $
Category: Saddles
Class:
Description Saddle Type: Trail Model: Bayou Plantation Color: Brown Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Saddle Size: 13"
Featured here is a rare piece of Equestrian history; this is a Plantation Saddle; I've consulted with 2 prominent saddle makers who believe it was made in the 1880's; they believe it was used by the Plantation Owner's daughter; this assumption is made because the stirrups have covers to protect the feet/boots - only utilized by females; this adorable saddle has a 13" seat; stirrups are solid oak and original; the underside of the saddle is missing some of the leather; full front cinch; all original; brown leather; 3 1/2" metal horn; width at withers is 4"; stirrups measure 4" on the inside; this saddle has survived 135 years; purchased from the estate of the original Owner's family; offered for free shipping; great collectible as well as décor item.
