Description: Coleman Kero Lantern 237 has never been fired! It has a few tarnish/rust spots on the fount. Otherwise, it's in excellent condition, and holds pressure! Comes with a complete American Optical Projector. Manufactured in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Good Condition! Please note the last photo is from the Guide to Vintage Coleman Products book. It is only for example. Facts: Model 237 lanterns were made into 35mm slide and filmstrip projectors in the late 1940's by Beseler, The Society of Visual Education and A.O. Spencer for use at the request of "the Visual Education Section of the U.S. Office of Education" to be used for presentations on "soil conservation, pest control hygiene, farm management, crop control and contour planning" both inside and outside the U.S. They also anticipated it would be used by missionaries. While the stories about them in the Coleman News said the projectors were being used on 220D lanterns, collectors have only found them on Model 237 lanterns and never made by Besler.-from the Guide to Vintage Coleman Products 1900-1983. Feel free to ask questions. Check out my other auctions for more Coleman collectibles!
