This model (Sage-2) honors knifemaker Chris Reeve's contribution to the knife industry with his creation of the Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.). Its flat-ground blade is ground from premium CPM-S30V stainless steel. It is paired with a handle constructed of solid titanium scales that also provide the foundation of the R.I.L. lock mechanism. This exceptional design fits the hand perfectly, offering superior control and cutting performance. A reversible silhouette wire pocket clip supports left or right-hand tip-up carry and Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole ensures positive, ambidextrous, one-handed blade opening. The first Sage knife recognized knifemaker Michael Walker's creation of the LinerLock, which offered a ball-bearing detent method of keeping a folding knife closed. The modification uses the handle scale as the lock's liner.
