The Raclet Solena came third in the caravan club review of Class 1 trailer tents this year. The first two were much more expensive. We bought this one new in April 2014 to see how we would enjoy camping. It has been used 6 or 7 times for long weekends. We have now taken delivery of a new caravan so the trailer tent must go. It cost £3960.00 new. The 140 litre box on the front, jockey wheel and spare wheel are extras over the basic price. It also comes with the full awning shown.The awning has a zip in ground sheet which has never been used. There are Milenco pads on the corner stabilisers to stop them sinking in soft ground. The whole unit is in excellent condition. The only blemish is the handle of the jockey wheel is showing some corrosion. I could fix it with some silver paint but I think it’s best not to hide anything. One of the rear lights has a very minor scuff which doesn’t show on photos. I did it moving the trailer and it annoyed me so I got a new light unit but have never fitted it. This comes with the trailer. The tent itself is incredibly quick and easy to erect. If you are having just an overnight stop you can be in bed within minutes of stopping. Check the video: The mattress is very comfortable and the bed can be left made up for easy stops if needed. Unlike some other models which have to be used with the awning the Solena is all waterproof so can be used alone or with the awning. A bedroom annexe can be added to the awning to accommodate up to two more people. The trailer tent weighs only 230kg so can be towed by any car and is easily manoeuvred. The maximum permitted weight is 400kg giving a massive payload of 170kg if needed. The awning stores under the bed in the trailer easily, leaving plenty of space for more equipment and the front box can carry plenty more. A Milenco wheel clamp and two hitch locks are included in the sale. This is a two year old unit and at less than half price is a massive saving over new.
