Hello,
Differences between this bag and the Outdoor Research Alpine Bivy: 2 poles instead of one for multiple bag positions and more wind protection, a vent at the base of the bag, a bit larger, more anchor and guy points, and fully taped seams.
I bought this bag 2 weeks ago, and realized I don't need something this beefy. I'm trying to go lighter, and more simple. This bag is super durable, but I usually have a foam pad and tarp, so consequently don't need it.
I set it up once indoors, and then put it back in the bag, in the original box, in the original packaging.
Here is the manufacturer's description:
Skip the tent and sleep in our Advanced Bivy—the largest in our line. Cut from GORE-TEX® Respiration Positive™, this bivy allows warm, moist air to escape, minimizing condensation, but blocks the elements. Need more space or air? Unzip the vent at the base and utilize the patented dual-pole system
