Performance on a new level of safety                The LTF/EN-B high-performance wing BLACKLIGHT has brought high performance on a very high safety level, even it is positioned at the high-end of EN-B class.  Additionally this cross country wing is equipped with a sophisticated suspension line concept, where every line diameter is designed for the appropriate load."Particular emphasis was put on the easy handling at the high glide ratio at 10.5, the control pressure is relatively low and the feedback is direct. The BLACKLIGHT is to be recommended to all ambitioned pilots, who are flying cross country actively and regularly and don‘t want to renounce the safety of the B-class."“For the main lines we use only Aramid/Kevlar lines in 11 different diameters”.  This wing has unsheathed lines for reducing aerodynamic drag.  Also employs a split-A lines for easier big ear maneuver. The size of this particular wing is SM, that it has 25.5 square meter of wing area.  Load capacity is ranged between 75 and 100 kg (165.35 and 220.46 lbs). The wing comes with manufacturer's sail repair kit and storage bag. The BLACKLIGHT is equipped with the High Definition Profile (HDP). HDP means thin plastic rods on the topsail which cover from 45 to 80% of the profile depth. The system corresponds perfectly with the High Pressure Crossport Design (HPCD) which means optimal designed cross ventilation openings in the ribs, which gives a dynamic handling but with a high stability. The BLACKLIGHT got 50 cells and an aspect ratio of 5.8.  Another fact for the high performance of the wing is the use of supreme NCV fabric material. In the topsail, type 40 gram is used for its water repellent quality and Skytex type 36 in the bottom sail. Elaborately is the conception of the ribs, there is type 32 Skytech material build in.The PPN system instead of the heavy nose mylar gives easy starting characteristic, “and thermaling the wing is just a dream” so states the designer of the wing, Strobl. The BLACKLIGHT turns willing in the thermal updraft and gains altitude rapidly. “In the end I can only advice to test the BLACKLIGHT and to experience the glide ratio of 10 on an LTF/EN-B wing.”All these advanced technology translates to grater lift generation and competitive glide ratio, which are essential for cross country flights, when pilots have to squeeze out maximum climb in a thermal.
