Product Information: A comprehensive range of traditional style tarpaulins made from cotton duck canvas. The term cotton duck originates from the Dutch word 'doek' meaning linen canvas. Cotton duck fabric is a plain woven fabric which is typically used in situations where a strong and hardy material is required. Each canvas tarpaulin is then wax processed, has double stitch hems, double stitched seams, nickel plated eyelets at 3ft intervals with strengthening tabs under each eyelet in the stitched hem. Cotton canvas tarpaulins are a popular choice for a traditional heavyweight cover with a rustic appearance. Cotton is also considered as more sustainable and environmentally friendly than their synthetic counterparts and has the added benefit of being breathable allowing any moisture under the cover to evaporate. The larger canvas tarps are widely used as flat bed lorry covers, trailer covers, as well as in marine, agriculture and industry. The smaller tarps are popular as groundsheets. Please note as canvas tarps are breathable we deem them to be water resistant rather than fully waterproof. NOTE: Please exercise caution as small amounts of wax and dye from the material could rub off and potentially stain items it comes into contact with (e.g. boats). Please be aware that canvas tarpaulins can be liable to slight shrinkage when used in either warm or wet climatic conditions.
