Beautiful Vintage Hamley Saddle, cut back swells, 4 1/2 inch cantle drop, and in excellent condition for its age.  The horn and tree are tight. The rigging is excellent.  The leather on the entire saddle is in lovely condition, pliable, and amazingly nice for its age.  The stirrup leathers are excellent, thick and healthy, and have been fitted with new laces.  The stirrups themselves are leather covered. and again in very good condition.   The cantle has a 4 1/2 inch drop, and the only real blemishes I see are 2 bruises along the rim of the cantle. The latigo strings are new, the skirts are relaced in the back where they meet, and the sheepskin has been replaced with new REAL sheepskin. The pomel is wide with a large cut under design.  The Hamley seal appears in several places. The Model number appears on the back of the cantle, along with the saddle number, and the original purchasers initials.  The words SPECIAL are carved below that.   The carving on the saddle is deep, hand done, and beautiful.  The horn has been heavily wrapped and well protected.  The leather used is as fine as I have seen. It is obviously hand made and with a great deal of care. The saddle is heavy, and designed to last a lifetime....probably more than one lifetime with moderate care.  This is a lovely saddle!
