For sale:Barbier saddle/17" seat The saddle fits thoroughbred types very well.Fits best a horse with good withers.
Last year the seat leather was up graded to a harder wearing but very soft buffalo leather.Also new foam in the seat.From my
experience the seat leather used in Barbier saddles does wear well and is not very durable.The panels were also replaced a
few years ago by Custom Saddlery.There was nothing wrong with the condition of the original panels but i wanted more clearance
for the horses spine along the back.The new panels not only offer more space but they are gusseted and allows a much wider surface area.
Also the hard foam was replaced with real flocking that is not only more comfortable but can be adjusted by a saddle fitter.I easily have at
least $1400. invested in just upgrades.
The Barbier saddle offers a very balanced position with a shape to the seat that allows the rider to sit in a center balance and with set back stirrups
it is easy to keep the leg positioned.The narrow twist places the rider very close to the horse.I am only selling it now because I am moving to the
17 1/2" size.
