Custom made Saxon Mongoose right hand takedown longbow with takedown sleeve hidden in handle. It is 64" long, 55 lbs. @ 28 inch draw, smoothest longbow I have ever shot. Used one season, took one huge caribou with it in NWT, been in storage since then as I am using a heavier bow now for big game hunting. Bow has beautiful wood, with many layers and different woods in the riser and limbs as you can see from the photos. There are 11 total so look at all of them to see. Wonderful wood with leather stitched handle covering. In excellent to mind condition, one minor nick in finish, barely noticeable, has hair arrow rest with small bit of wear on it. Have shot about 100 arrows total since new. This model was made for me by Randy Dehner when he owned Saxon Archery in Potlatch, Idaho when I was publisher for big game hunting magazine. I went to his shop and chose the Osage and Ebony as well as other fine wood for the bow. It has mellowed and darkened since then into a nice brown sugar color wood tone (compare to the yellow hue when I first got in in the caribou photo). Amazing workmanship that will never be made again as sadly Randy passed away a year ago. There are NONE of these on eBay and very few were ever made. Soon after this one was made he stopped using the two-piece sleeve as they were not being made any longer. This bow takes down into two pieces, about the same length as your arrows so you can pack it into a duffle bag inside nice safe bow case and NOT have a long tube in your luggage that can easily be broken or stolen. You can use with cedar wood arrows, carbon or aluminum. See the carbon arrows I used with is in the last photo and the caribou taken with this bow. Notice how the wood has mellowed and darkened from the time that photo was first taken several years ago. The Osage wood darkens with exposure to sunlight. This bow retailed for $795 US when new. Includes string and silencers, will be professionally packaged in a box and insured. No returns. Will ship anywhere in the US or Canada and you pay $50 shipping and any taxes due. International buyers contact me for shipping rates.Canadian residents must pay GST in their province.See my other bow for sale, a rare Fred Bear Kodiak Special for restoration or display. I will combine shipping on both bows.
