The Cold Steel Extra Large Espada Knife stands in a special class of it's own. Designed similar in style and feel to the Spanish Conquistador weapons of the 1500's, this pocket sword harnesses old world craftmanship with new world advancements in materials and workmanship. This is not a toy. This is a huge, yet well balanced knife that features a dramatically upswept clip point blade designed for cutting, slashing and piercing. It also sports a two handed pistol grip handle. The handle is CNC machined from 7075 ALuminum billets that will last years of abuse and the handle also sports mirror polished bolsters and glossy black g10 scales. The Espada also is equipped with Cold Steel's new multi-patented TRI-AD lock. Designed by Andrew Demko, the TRI-AD is unsurpassed in resisting positive pressure from the edge (cutting, slashing and chopping), negative pressure from the point (piercing, digging and chiseling), and impact pressure (whacks on the back of the spine of the blade) by diverting these forces first to its unique stop pin and then throughout the entire handle frame. Although this knife is very large, it can actually be carried in a pocket. Then in an emergency they can be drawn and opened in a single motion by snagging the patented thumb plate on the edge of a pocket.
