The saddle in this listing features the Steele Equi-fit Gaited Horse Bar- designed to fit the widest range of gaited horse with more flare at the shoulder (which is needed for the gaited horse), and a bar that is specifically designed to also fit the back of the gaited breeds which typically need more rock (like the rocker of a rocking chair) than the standard quarter horse trees on the market. The bars that go down the side of the horse are designed to give your horse additional freedom of movement, but the pommel and cantle are rigid (fiberglass covered wood) so the tree does not change shape, which can cause pressure points. The flexibility just allows for more freedom of movement for the horse and for the rider the flexible material is like a shock absorber. Although you will not be able to tell the tree is flexible by sitting in the saddle (the tree is very stable and does not give to the weight of the rider due to the ground seat used), but as you ride you will get a closer feel for your horse and lower back pain can be reduced by the flexible bar which absorbs the shock. The regular gaited fit tree in this saddle has a gullet of 7 inches and a bar spread of 12 1/2 inches which is our most popular fit. This saddle also features the following:-LIGHT RIDER BUTTERFLY SKIRT- the skirting behind the riders leg is cut away so that you get closer contact feel with your horse. The western fender is all leather in front and where you do the adjustment in the back of the fender, we use leather reinforced with nylon to reduce the weight of the saddle -SUPRACOR SEAT PADDING- this is the medical grade padding which promotes circulation and will prevent pressure soreness for the rider on long rides-DEEP MAHOGANY LEATHER WITH BLACK SMOOTH GLOVE LEATHER SEAT-HAND TOOLED WITH EDGE TOOLING -COACHMANS LOOPS ON POMMEL AND BEHIND CANTLE TO ALLOW YOU TO HANG OBJECTS AND SECURE SADDLE BAGS-O RINGS WITH 4 LEATHER LATIGO STRINGS FOR TYING ON ADDITIONAL OBJECTS- NYLON OFF BILLET AND TIE STRAP FOR TRADITIONAL RIGGING OR 2 LONG TIE STRAPS FOR ENDURO OR 3 POINT RIGGING-we use the nylon to keep the weight of the saddle down and most people find it much easier to tie than leather- if you do prefer leather straps, they are available-MATCHING TOOLED ENDURANCE STIRRUPS-READY STIRRUP TURNERS- these keep your stirrups in correct position without the need to twist your fender-WOOL FELT LINING-CHEYENNE ROLL CANTLE-LENGTH OF SADDLE IS 25 INCHES FOR 15 AND 16 INCH SEAT- ADD 1 INCH FOR 17-WEIGHT IS APR 27 POUNDS-ALL SADDLES ARE HAND FINISHED WITH SKIDMORES LEATHER CREAM TO ENSURE THE SOFTEST LEATHER POSSIBLE ON A NEW SADDLEYou will not find a saddle with the quality we offer at the price we offer.
