Description
This is a reproduction of a Sibley Tent, which is an old type of open fire tent made by the American Army. It used a pole which stood on a tripod with a fire or a small rectangular stove under the tripod, the central pole would then sit on the tripod and the tent has chains on the top to support it so it hangs from the central pole. This auction is for the canvas part only of the Sibley Tent. It is made from 12oz FWR (flame, water and rot-proofed) canvas which is polyester-cotton so very resistant and strong It was made by Spirits Intent (www.spiritsintent.com) and a small outdoor gear company called Wild Canvas, so is really one of a kind. We are selling this tent after a year of use, some of the colours have faded a little but the tent is in really good condition otherwise. This is a one in a lifetime chance to buy a tent that is not made by anyone anymore. This could be amazing for festival use with a tripod and pole, or as a hanging tipi to suspend from a tree. Only the canvas part will be supplied, but it has loops for pegging attached so is easy to erect. The tent will be sent by courier for another £50, collection is not possible.
