Designed for high-altitude endeavors, The North Face Assault 2 4-Season 2-Person Tent is now even lighter than previous models, with more ventilation to combat condensation. Great for minimalist mountaineers, the Assault 2 boasts a trail weight of just 3lb 4oz and includes a removable vestibule for light and fast summit bids. The canopy is composed of The North Face's proprietary Drywall fabric, which has the highest tear strength of any of The North Face's fabrics. In addition to it's bombproof strength, Drywall fabric is highly breathable to reduce the amount of condensation at high altitudes.New to the 2015 model, the Assault 2 now has two mesh vents made of a lightweight 20-denier polyester mesh to further increase the overall breathability of the shelter. And with an extra pole between the vents, the tent is now even more secure for those windy, snowy nights in the alpine. The inside of the tent is fitted with plenty of tabs to run dry lines as well as a gear loft that is sold separately. The easy-pitch X-Tent design makes set-up fast and simple in inclement weather, while the seam taped, PU-coated floor prevents moisture from working through the base of the tent and can be fitted with an additional footprint (sold separately).
