If you're looking for a travel boat or just for convenient storage, this kayak weighs 50 lbs and fits into a backpack -- perfect for plane travel. After less than an hour of assembly, you'll have a fully rigid, 16.5" kayak with the comfort and performance of a hardshell. The skin is sturdy urethane and is in excellent condition. One small skidplate on the stern is the only after-market change. The boat has no bulkheads, but comes with a "sea sock" that fits inside the cockpit and keeps water and grit out of the storage areas. This has kept abrasion between the frame and the skin to a minimum. Every piece is engineered for a tight fit and positive attachment. It's quick to set up, even faster to pack up, and extremely solid in the water. This boat is the hand-laid fiberglass coaming model, built in British Columbia. A new model runs $6,000.
