This is a Tex Tan Saddle in very good used condition.This is a beautiful saddle made by Tex Tan. The quality of construction and attention to detail is apparent in every aspect of this saddle. The leather has been well cared for and is great condition with floral tooled details. I think the top stitched overlay detail on the front of the swell is really eye-catching.It has a quilted, chocolate brown suede seat that measures 15.5" to the edge of the suede but 16" to the cantle stitching (and as you can see below, Tex Tan sold this one as a 16" seat). It has double rigging up front with flat, square in-skirt dees. The stirrups are rawhide-wrapped with contrasting lacing.I have an email out to Tex Tan with the serial number to get more info and I will update this listing when I hear back. The serial number is: 08-996R6 196-50723. This saddle weighs 28 lbs.Update: this is what I got back from Tex TanMade Jan 1996Prairie Rose pleasure saddleQH BarsRusset color16” seatMSRP in 1996 was $995.00The skirt measures 26" and the gullet measures 6-3/4" on the inside at the conchos (I've measured the gullet by using a flexible tape, measuring from the underside of the left concho, across to the underside of the concho on the right). I've also included some pictures with a tape measure in place to give you an idea of gullet angle and height. The tree looks like fiberglass when I peek under the skirt. All of the 3-way rigged Tex Tan's that I can find have the Flex Tree but they also are usually labeled "Flex Tree" or "Tex Flex" and this one isn't. The response above doesn't mention specifics on the tree so I would assume it is a typical fiberglass tree.This saddle has seen some use and shows some wear with the expected light scuffs and discolorations. You can see a little white smudge towards the top of the left fender and it needs a good detailing. There are no big scrapes, loose stitches, broken or damaged areas. The fleece underside is showing very little wear and is still in excellent condition.I tried to take pictures of all angles so you could really see what you're getting but please let me know if you need any other measurements or info.Why buy new?
