This is a brand new, in the box Mountain Hardwear Optic 2.5 backpacking tent in MH's Bay Blue color. The 2.5 designation is due to the large space (37 s.f.) relative to most 2-person tents. So if you are 2 plus a dog or a youngster, or if you just like more space this tent will suit. Two vestibules and two large doors make it easier to store gear and get in/out. This was an Editor Choice pick by Backpacker Magazine in 2014 and also by Gear Junkie and Washington Trails. With the tent, I am including a new in-box Kershaw 3/4 Ton folding knife. Some details:
The Mountain Hardwear Optic 2.5 is an exciting new concept in backpacking tents, Not The Lightest. Nope, it's designed for those that want a little more room and/or better visibility from inside the tent. It sleeps 2.5 people according to the specs but that just means that the 2 of you will have a bit more room to fool around with or I suppose you could bring a kid or a dog. The Optic 2.5's defining feature is the 2 large adjacent doors that can open up to give you an expansive view of the terrain. Very Cool! It also means that getting in or out is easier and ventilation is terrific. It also means you have 2 Vestibules to stow gear in. Add shockcorded DAC PressFit aluminum poles, sealed seams on the Fly and Floor and a Full Coverage Fly to keep the tent dry Sleeps 2.5
