Starter backpacking kit. Includes Alps Mountaineering Lynx 1 tent, Black Diamond Epic 45 L backpack, Ozark Trail sleeping pad, Ozark Trail XL sleeping bag, and Thermarest Compressible Pillow Small. All of the gear is used, but is in perfectly servicable condition. I upgraded the guy lines on the tent, as well as the stakes, so those are not stock. The new guy lines and stakes are much lighter than the originals, but it doesn't affect the total weight of the tent very much. The guy lines are also reflective, and they have MSR type cam ring tensioners. The stuff sack for the tent has a tear in the stitching where I cut off the heavy plastic label, but it doesn't affect functionality at all, just aesthetics. The backpack is a size large, so it is actually 47L instead of the 45 in the model name. It is also a climbing pack, so it doesn't have a super supension system or a lot of pockets, but it works for basic trips and starting out. The pack includes extra strap material and an allen wrench in the removable lid compartment for removing the hip belt. The sleeping bag is supposedly rated to 30 degrees, but realistically it will be cold below 45 degrees (F). The rated weight of 1.27 lbs is also somewhat dubious. It is an XL sleeping bag, so it is rather spacious. The sleeping pad is self inflating, but requires a few breaths to get it all the way inflated, and has since it was new. The pillow is rolls into itself for packing, as demonstrated in the photo above. |
