Incredible OFFSIDE Custom Sidesaddle, Fully tooled, Draft Tree
Estimated price for orientation: 2 600 $
Category: Saddles
Class:
Description
This utterly gorgeous saddle was custom built to my specifications within the past six years. I had it made to fit my mega-wide Fjord mare on an eight inch draft tree. Measurement information can be seen in the photos. It rides level and is nicely stable on my mare. The seat is supportive and very comfortable. This saddle comes with a full selection of fittings, including a crupper, a full set of girths, a separate padded seat, (in addition to the padded seat that it already has) and an all-leather underpad that is corner tooled to match. This is an OFFSIDE saddle, which means that the rider's legs will be on the right side of the horse when mounted. I had it made to accommodate nerve damage in my left leg. It does not come with a stirrup. The stirrup dee is closed which means a safety iron or stirrup will be necessary. I used one of a pair of "footfree" irons when I rode it. It did come with a slipper stirrup, but the stirrup was designed for a standard sidesaddle and fits a left foot. I am happy to include that stirrup, but do know that it will not work with this saddle. OFFSIDE saddles are RARE! Offside sidesaddles on draft trees are super hard to come by. If you have one made it will cost $5K or more, and will take six months or so. This is your chance to own a fabulous saddle without the full price and the manufacturing delay. I am happy to try to answer any questions you may have about my saddle. It is listed elsewhere, thus may become unavailable, so if you are interested, my advice is to act now... Please note - I am unsure of the actual shipping cost. The eBay shipping calculator amount seems to be high to me. If you are interested in a closer shipping estimate, please send me your zip code, and I will try for a more accurate shipping estimate. That said, this saddle is larger in some dimensions than an average western saddle, and weighs about the same as a well made roping saddle. The last western saddle I shipped cost $78.00 to send to a US continental location. I do know that this saddle will be considered "oversized" by the US Postal Service. Thanks for your interest!
