Die Aufgabenstellung für den Designer sah vor, ein Messer zu entwerfen, das einen direkten Wiedererkennungswert zum Kalashnikov Sturmgewehr AK-47 berücksichtigt. Als Herstellungsverfahren für den Griff wurde CNC-Fräsen gegenüber Druckgusstechnik gewählt, um ein Höchstmaß an Präzision zu erzielen. Der Griff des Kalashnikov -Messers besteht aus Hardcoat-anodisiertem 6061-T6 Aluminium. Gesichert wird die Klinge im geöffneten Zustand durch den Liner Lock. Die Griffintarsien zeigen dieselbe Kontur wie der vordere Handschutz am Sturmgewehr AK-47. Je nach Ausführung sind sie aus G-10 oder aus Cocoboloholz. Einlagen finden sich nur auf der Vorderseite. Die Rückseite nimmt den Hosen-Clip auf. Signifikantestes Wiedererkennungsmerkmal am Messer ist die Klinge, die der Bajonettklinge des AK-47 entspricht. Als Klingenmaterial wurde 440-C gewählt. Präsentiert wird das Messer in einer speziell entworfenen Metallschatulle. Gesamtlänge 22,9 cm.
