Leather Kieffer Saddle
Estimated price for orientation: 525 $
Category: Saddles
Class:
Description Brand: Kieffer Country/Region of Manufacture: Germany Color: Dark Brown Saddle Size: 17.5"
This is an older well cared for 17 1/2 inch Kieffer dark brown leather saddle. We have had this saddle for about 8 years. It was considered to be an older saddle when we got it, but it's age is not known. My daughter has gained nearly 2 feet in height since we got it and it is now a little small for her. The specific model of the saddle is not know but most we have asked think it is a jumping/hunt seat saddle. My daughter has used it as an all purpose though and has competed in jumping, dressage, trail courses, and some speed events in this saddle. The topside leather and flaps are in very good condition. The saddle has been kept well oiled and is very supple. The knee pads have some normal wear. They have a suede finish and it is wore close to smooth. It is not visually very noticeable, especially in the pics, and my daughter has no problem with grip, but they are definitely smoother than a new saddle. Billets are original and show some wear, but are still in good working condition. The exposed metal on the stirrup hangers have noticeable wear on the finish, but are mechanically solid and functional. My daughter has used this saddle on a range of horses from a 16.2hh quarter horse down to a 13.3hh pony. All of them were pretty average width, this saddle probably would not fit an overly wide or draft size horse.
