CONDITION: MINTEARTHENWARE REDWARE PIE PLATE, "Go for half a Joe" (SCARCE) with Sgraffito & Slip - By the late Pennsylvania potter, Lester P. Breininger, Jr. Potted in Robesonia, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1983, after potter David Spinner's (1758 - 1811) c. 1800 equestrian pie plate, "The Race" now exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.Mr. Breininger was regarded as one of the premiere Pennsylvania Dutch potters of his time; "Lester has a pedigree that goes back to the 1700s," said Locher, 62, a reporter with the Daily Record in Wooster, Ohio.
