Description Brand: Mountain Equipment Season: 4-5 Season Insulation Type: Down
A top-of-the-range Mountain Equipment Redline expedition sleeping bag in excellent condition. Surplus to requirements (work commitments mean I won't be using it any time soon) and deserves to go to a better home! Comes with original mesh storage sack, and original waterproof stuff sack.NB the bag has had only two nights' use, although had a v small repair made professionally by Mountaineering Designs in Cumbria in Dec 2016. It is in full working order, with years of use left in it. UK RRP £800.The Mountain Equipment Redline bag is the very warmest of their Extreme range; built to withstand the very coldest conditions. The very best 850+ fill power down and superb engineering combine to give a very warm and high quality bag for serious use. The Redline bag is for Polar expeditions and high altitude winter mountaineering - situations where you're relying on your bag to keep you alive. The Extreme range of bags are 'off the scale' on the EN ratings, however Mountain Equipment quote the 'Good Night's Sleep' rating at -50°C. This is the temperature at which you could expect to sleep reasonably (as opposed to shiver your way through the night) wearing light clothing and using a liner. This is generally a couple of degrees colder than the EN Comfort Limit rating. The Extreme bags feature Mountain Equipment's Expedition Fit which is a mummy design with enough space around the torso to wear extra layers and store items of clothing overnight. The Redline features a combination of trapezoid and V shaped baffles which maximise the retention of down in position and overlap to minimise heat loss. Ground level seams on the bag - as opposed to traditional side seams - mean that the top sheet wraps right over your body, increasing insulation. The foot of the bag uses a six baffle trapezium shape to provide a good sized toe box without any dead spots in the insulation. The top lining utilises EXL - elasticated stitching on the internal baffles to hug the bag close to your body, increasing thermal efficiency, loft and comfort. Finally the hood and collar of the jacket are designed to provide a close fitting cowl.Mountain Equipment Redline Range Features:Drilite Loft II water resistant fabricExpedition fit allowing for storing or wearing extra clothing inside the bagTrapezium 6 baffle foot piece with Bulls-Eye technology for down control and low weightGemini Collar for optimum lightweight insulation with down draft tubesTrapezoid 2-1 and V baffles1/2 length side zip with anti snag baffleSupplied with lightweight roll-top waterproof stuff sack and mesh storage sackMountain Equipment Redline Specs:Size: Regular Max User Height : 185cmDown (Lorch Test): 93/7 850 FillFill Weight: 1350gTotal Weight: 2400g
