Description Saddle Type: Rough Out Rope / Ranch saddle Saddle Size: 15" Brand: Hal Pearce Saddlery Model: roping ranch work colt starting trail ETC Color: Brown Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
15" Roping / Ranch Saddle - Custom saddleshop handmade used saddle in great condition as shown. Saddle is maker stamped from Hal Pearce Saddlery in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a saddle that was never treated bad, probably has never made it out of this county before - and has been gone through and I can identify a few things that I suspect have been upgraded: First, the matching rough out fenders appear to be newer and of an excellent leather grade with premium workmanship. ( I am thinking they may be newer as there is barely any wear on them and not any big horse sweat/hair marks as illustrated) Also, the saddle strings and the leather horn wrap are likely newer than original as they do not seem to have seen much action either! Underside fleece in great shape and saddle has a shorter skirt than many which will appeal to those with shorter backed horses. Gullet flare is a little more ample than many 'factory type' saddles and will provide ample clearance and not inhibit horse's action.
Saddle has a bullhide covered wood tree and weighs about 34 pounds. The deep roper stirrups are original, and are heavier and will ship with saddle unless buyer wants a different type. - I have 2 other stirrup options for buyer if they were interested in swapping them out for a more 'modern' stirrup - I have pictures ready to share (choice of a metal stirrup w/ pad or a rawhide bell style). Rear Cinch is newer and a nice hearty one for roping or performance work - and the Classic Equine cinch seen in pictures - as well as the latigo and off billet straps all come with the saddle. Ready to use & enjoy the minute you get it!
I personally LOVE that little hint of Old School craftsmanship seen on the seat with the buck stitch trim! ( I keep hearing that buck stitch is 'coming back' - - -can't happen soon enough for me!) I do not know what year this saddle was made. Definitely is a well made saddle that will serve someone well, set a horse properly and be a safe and dependable ride!
