Clearing out the gear closet.  This tent has been on precisely one trip--a 10 day Alaskan salmon fly fishing excursion where we floated a river and camped in the eves.  And it rained like hell and the wind blew like crazy several nights but this tent stayed upright and those of us in it dry (unlike some in lesser tents).  This is the highly rated Cabelas Alaskan Guide #8 tent.  The big one...with the aluminum pole upgrade (lighter, stronger).  Check out the photos and read reviews online...  Geodesic Dome tent with a big vestibule and door w/ window, and 2nd big door w/ window (great when us old guys aren't stepping over each other to get out at night when nature calls) and a 3rd window with a zippered pass through.  All the windows zip closed (so mesh is covered) if you're looking to keep wind out and interior temps elevated a little.  The rainfly will button this thing up so sideways wind and torrential rain can't get moisture in the tent (its got a high-walled bathtub floor).  One other thing to mention--because all the tent poles are the same, you can't screw up when putting it up.  In crappy weather or low light, this is a blessing so you're not fumbling around trying to get the right poles in the right place.  Every pole is the right pole and the sleeves, snaps and straps are color coded so you can easily and quickly get the pole where it belongs.  I flew home from Alaska with a damp tent and immediately dried it out and stored it away in our gear room--where it has remained since.  Besides the first stock photo, the pics are from my wife and I setting it up in the back yard to inspect just prior to this listing.  Here's what you're bidding on.
8-person Geodesic Dome Alaskan Guide Tent w/ Aluminum Poles which includes:
Tent Body, Rain Fly, the upgraded Aluminum Poles (in full working condition), gear loft attachments. Tent repair kit (unused--seam sealer and extra fabric).  NO TENT PEGS.8-person Cabelas Guide Tent Floor Liner
This is a floor liner, not a tent 'footprint'.  As such, this factory floor liner clips into the interior of the tent to provide extra protection to the waterproof, seam sealed floor if you have bunks, chair and such on the interior of the tent. 8-person poly footprint
I'm not sure if this is a Cabelas factory product or if I had it made...anyway...heavy duty plastic footprint that went under the tent.4-to-8 Person Guide Tent Connector
we used this one time in Alaska to connect a 4-person guide tent to this 8-person guide tent (you are NOT getting a 4-person tent).  Worked well but as we camped on small river banks (not in the tundra with the bugs) we often lacked the room to get two tents side by side.  In preparation for the remote Alaskan trip, I bought extra aluminum poles to take with as we would be FUBAR if something broke or failed on the trip.  You are also getting a bunch of extra aluminum poles and aluminum pole repair connectors (the connectors are used if you somehow break a pole section in half--you can cut/file the messed up portion off and use the connector for a field repair--obviously the best solution is having an entire extra pole or at least section on hand).  I inspected the spare pole sets and they all look great (unused) with the possible exception on one...one of the tents that failed (non-cabelas) on the trip buckled in the bad weather and wind.  I gave them access to my spare poles to repair their setup and I think they may have taken a link from one of the spare pole sets.  The folded pole sections on the table in the picture are all extras (there are a couple hundred bucks in just extra aluminum poles).  FYI--the tent body uses all the same length diameter poles (great for redundancy and repair).  The rain fly uses a single pole that is different length from the tent body.  You are getting at least one EXTRA rain fly vestibule pole and multiple EXTRA tent body poles.  My wife and I inspected everything to the best of our ability.  There is some soiling (alaskan dirt) and general evidence of use--we've tried to show it in the pictures--this won't pass for a new tent.  All the taped seams are in very good condition.  All the zippers, toggles, elastic, velcro etc., everywhere are in perfect working order.  The no-see-um mesh is all perfect.  We found two small holes in the tent body (high up, near each other, covered by the rain fly--see the photo).  If you care to repair it, I'll leave that to you...  I'm not including tent any tent pegs as I bought cheap, long metal pegs for Alaska use and they took a beating trying to get them into the boulders on the river banks up there.  I left them with the outfitter before flying home.  There is no visible UV/Sun damage (no evidence of fading or deterioration of the nylon due to sun/age).  Its rated for 8 folks to sleep in there but like most tents, 8 people will be very cozy.  We put 5 people in this one with some gear and didn't hate each other.  Interior height it plentiful.  I'm almost 6' and can easily stand upright another 8" or so to spare in the middle.  Guaranteed as described.  We just folded everything up and boxed it so it will be ready to ship to you within 24hrs of purchase.  FYI--the only sturdy box I could come up with that fits everything and the accessories required unpacking the main bag in order to pack the box (the main bag was too thick with tent, fly, poles).  This boxed setup is a little bulky and heavy with all the accessories so its going economy ground, signature confirmation to the lower 48 only.  I'll be listing some other new or lightly used gear and bike stuff soon--check out my other auction items.  Happy camping!

On Mar-21-17 at 16:02:05 PDT, seller added the following information:***In the description above, I described the pictured "Vestibule adaptor" as a "4-to-8 Person Tent Connector".  If you're not familiar with the guide tents, my above description could be confusing or misleading and that's not my intent.  The factory connector I'm including in this auction allows connection to a huge 4 person vestibule, not technically a separate 4-person tent (and to be brutally clear/redundant, neither a 4-person tent nor a 4-person vestibule is included).  I just want to clarify you are getting the 'vestibule adaptor' (the provided photo with the accessories shows a bag labeled ...'4 person vestibule adaptor'...that is the 'connector' you are getting).  My recollection was those huge vestibules were an accessory that were only available for a limited time from Cabelas.  We just happened to have one in our group on the trip I was on.  And at the risk of being really redundant, the 'vestibule adaptor' is NOT needed for normal operation of this 8 person tent.  You are getting the tent body and fly with the built in vestibule as shown in the photos.***
