This was purchased in 2010, used only a few times. There was a fiasco with the serial/USB chip in these and other products. If you read the message boards you will learn that the manufacturer actually rendered their own older chips obsolete to fight Chinese counterfeits. The problem is usually blamed on Windows 8 or 10, but really it is the new chip driver that checks for a product ID. Long story short, the old chips would not longer connect to Windows.After complaining to Flytec, they agreed to upgrade the chip, as indicated by the invoice. They also upgraded the firmware and tested the unit in general. I tested the serial/USB connection myself to make sure.I don't fly now, my back issues make it too risky. This is a pro unit with the original box and CD. I would recommend using the latest software available online rather than the CD. There is velcro on the back used to attach to a flight deck.
