I've used this bivy sack for multiple backpacking trips and in all seasons. It works great, it is 100% waterproof and VERY breathable (unlike some others I have tried). The poles keep the gore-tex fabric or the bug netting off your face, depending on whether you have it open or closed. Having a sleeping pad and sleeping bag inside the bivy makes it take shape much better than shown in my pictures. It can also be left partially open during storms, giving you fresh air while still keeping the rain out. There is also a zippered vent in the foot box. This bivy sack has seen use but not abuse, there are no holes or tears in the bag itself and all the zippers work fine. The only damage is a <1 inch tear in one of the inside pole openings and the internal plastic wire that goes around the hood to keep its shape has poked out on one side. Both these things could be fixed in 5 minutes with a needle and thread and do not impact any functionality or waterproofness. I would just leave it though, it's basically cosmetic. The bag does have some minor marks from dirt on the bottom, it is for sleeping on the ground after all. And there is a little bit of discoloration on the white interior from some leaves getting inside and then being slept on. But I always dried it out thoroughly before storage, so no mold, smells or anything like that. It's just a great, ultralight, compact, comfortable bivouac bag. Thanks for checking it out!2 shockcorded Delrin® poles allow the bivy to open in several different positions from wide open to awning style
3-layer Gore-Tex® Respiration Positive™ laminate fabric was created just for sleep systems—it's both vapor and gas permeable
Durable and waterproof Hydroseal® coated nylon floor; fully taped seams ensure waterproof protection
Removable, tightly woven no-see-um mesh provides lightweight, chemical-free bug protection that doesn't interfere with visibility; height is 20 in.
End-opening zipper with a wide storm flap allows easy entry and exit without sacrificing waterproofness
High-volume foot section with zippered vent allows sleeping bag to maintain full loft for optimal warmth around feet; height is 14.5 in.
Footprint is sized to fit thick sleeping pads for increased comfort
Straps keep your sleeping pad in place, preventing the bivy from rolling over during sleep
Small mesh pocket holds nighttime essentials
5 stake loops and 3 guyline loops provide ample anchor points
Includes Delrin poles and stuff sack
