Ultralight Sleeping Bag - Katabatic Gear - Palisade 30 Quilt
Estimated price for orientation: 199 $
Category: Sleeping Bags
Class:
Description Brand: Katabatic Gear Features: Ultralight MPN: Does Not Apply Insulation Type: Down EAN: Does not apply
This not a "normal" sleeping bag but a quilt designed for people to hike/bike ultralight. Comes in at 1lb 3.7oz or 558gr on my kitchen scales including the 3 straps but excluding the yellow cord or bag. If you are new to ultralight quilts I suggest you google "quilts vs sleeping bags".Its rated at 0°C / 30°F (take this with a grain of salt). 850fp Water-Resistant down. Length 6'6". No tears/holes etc. I am very careful with my gear.
The quilt comes as shown on the pictures with the original yellow cord, straps and instructions but without any bags.I bought this in summer 2013 and it has been used on 4 trips from 1 to 2.5 weeks and maybe a couple weekend trips. I never washed it. This means that the down is in perfect condition. I always used long pants and long sleeve vest to sleep in it and never found it necessary to wash.Don't forget that if you order this in the US you have to pay VAT + import tax (£500+ ?). It can also take in my experience 3 weeks to clear customs on top of the standard shipping time.I bought it because it was recommended by outdoor gear lab:
"To state it simply, the Katabatic Gear Palisade 30 is the best ultralight sleeping bag we tested, and it has held onto this distinction for 4 years". http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Ultralight-Sleeping-Bag-Reviews/Katabatic-Gear-Palisade-30#

https://katabaticgear.com/shop/palisade-sleeping-bag/I decided that quilts are not for me and hope that this one will help someone else on smaller and larger adventures.
