18" Schleese Ostergaard dressage saddle #4 Tree
Estimated price for orientation: 1 200 $
Category: Saddles
Class:
Description Saddle Type: Dressage Model: Ostergaard Color: Black Saddle Size: 18" Brand: Schleese Country/Region of Manufacture: Canada
Gunnar Ostergaard who the saddle is named for is a renowned Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer.Although an older Schleese model this Ostergaard is in remarkable condition and has many more years of life in it. It's construction makes it ideal for a high withered horse. The tree is marked 4 which from research looks like it should be widebut I am thinking it's more like a medium-wide.The pictures don't really do it justice. The only noticeable wear is on the flaps from leather rubs. As expected with a saddle of this agethere are a few surface scratches. I am not sure what the pebbled leather is but I am guessing Buffalo. The color is fairly even with some slight browning along the seat by the seams. I took a close up.I think that the billets are in better condition then they look in the pictures but they could use some conditioning. I don't like to do itbefore taking pictures because I think it shows the actual condition better. Knee roll is about 2" and there is a 2" seat gusset. The flaparea that covers the knee roll doesn't even have a crease in it so indicates very low use on this saddle!Seat measures 18" and is stamped 18" but It feels smaller due to the deep seat. The only place any of the stitching is loose or worn is at thevery lower point of the left knee roll which in no way should interfere with the use of the saddle. Please look carefully at the pictures. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have..
