The seat is designed to keep the rider over their heels for balanced rider position allowing the heels to remain under the pelvis and shoulder which suports the rider and allows the rider to be in position to support the horse's position. The 4" oval cantle has a slight wrap around to support the rider's hips in leaving a barrel and the straighter swell helps support the rider going into a barrel.
