Some of you dressage people may not have heard about MacRider saddles. That is because they are kinda stealthy. I rode in a Custom Saddlery saddle and was a little snobby about trying out the MacRider...I admit. Until I rode in one. And then I was a convert. First, it is made on an adjustable tree...so when the horse changes, it changes. And I am not talking about a jenky adjustable tree saddle that wiggles and is never quite right...this has to be adjusted by a MacRider rep...but it totally rocks and horses LOVE it. Secondly, I am small and my bony butt loves this saddle as much as my horse. I had callous on top of callous until I met my Custom (and I don't love a squishy saddle) and this is like a cloud in comparison to that. And I don't fight my saddle on my big moving horse. I used this particular saddle on a Lusitano, then adjusted it to fit a warmblood. It has just a little bit of bling on the back cantle. I wore dark brown boots (DeNiro, of course), a navy coat, and navy hat, and it looked awesome on both the chestnut mare and the bay Lusitano...but besides the aesthetics of it all, my horses were happy and comfortable. I am only selling it because I bought a ridiculously big moving horse that has a GIGANTIC trot. I mean, I need another two or three discs inserted into my back kind of trot. In order to keep up with him, I really need an external block. This saddle has a decent block for any routine horse, but my new guy, not so much (I am grasping at straws here, I admit). This saddle new sells for nearly 4,000....and it is less than a year old. It has mellowed in color and you can see some surface scrapes and such where the stirrups, when run up, have brushed against the leather or whatnot...the soft brown leather does marr. But just like luggage, this brown leather blends together to start to look like Indiana Jones's hat...just really, really pretty. It gets compliments wherever I go. I am super protective of this saddle. This saddle is NOT for trial unless it is a local trial, as it is an adjustable tree and should be able to be fitted to any horse (as is my understanding from MacRider). Currently, the dot to dot measurement in the gullet is 6" (medium tree), the flaps measure 17" from stirrup bar to end of flap, and the seat is a generous 17" (I am 5'5 and 120 lbs). It was serviced in November by the owner of MacRider. I am offering it for an unbelievable price.
