There is so much to be said for packing lighter when the expeditions get bigger. The lighter your pack, the more you'll enjoy every moment on trail. Luckily, with the Nemo GOGO Elite, you don't have to sacrifice comfort and coverage when packing a shelter for the backcountry. All that at a trail weight of 20 oz! Even though I have only used this bivvy a few times, I have been exceedingly impressed by how roomy it is, how easy it is to set up, how protected I feel, and how dry I am in the morning after a big storm. It's a truly solid piece of equipment. NEMO changed the game when they introduced inflatable tent poles and the GOGO Elite utilizes this tech to the fullest. The inflatable "halo" above your head holds the bivvy up away from you, negating the need for tent poles and other annoyances. When you are ready to pack it up, you just compress everything down into the bag and you are good to go. Innovation at its finest!
I have used this bivvy three or four times. I have immediately dried it after use and always taken care during set up and take down. Included are the bivvy itself, bivvy stuff sack, pump attachment, five NEMO stakes (and stake bag), an extra o-ring for the pump, a few lengths of paracord for guylines. Every piece is in good working condition. The only issue is with the bivvy stuff sack, there is an inch-long rip on the side panel. It does not affect functionality at all, but must be noted all the same. See images.
This bivvy should be a go-to piece of gear for any lone wolf heading for the hills this summer. I don't need it anymore, but you probably do! It has plenty of adventures left in it. With a retail price of $450, spend less on this bivvy and save more for your time in the wilderness. Also, did I mention that it is a brilliant yellow? Because it is... and it is awesome!Shoot me a message if you have any questions!Happy trails!
