I have had this Katabatic Gear Palisade 30 degree bag for 4 years and used it on a couple of short backpacking and motorcycling trips, but we have a new baby so it's not going to get used any more and needs somebody else to enjoy it. It is stored hanging in a closet when not used and has not been in a washing machine, just wiped down with a damp cloth after use. My scale shows it weighing in at 1.05 pounds without the stuff sack. The stuff sack measures 9"x13" but you can smash this bugger down way more than that if you want. This is considered the ultimate in ultralight sleeping gear for the weight-weenie in you. Please refer to the Katabatic Gear website for details. There is no back and no hood, you use this as a blanket/quilt or you secure it to your sleeping pad with the pictured yellow cords if temps drop below 40 or so, to prevent drafts and keep the warmth in. This is designed to keep weight to an absolute minimum, along with 900 fill goose down. This is Made in Colorado USA, making it only one of three companies making top end bags in the USA (the other two being Western Mountaineering and Feathered Friends). The bag size is 6'0" |
