MY WAY Serengeti 2.5 Person Roof Tent A very reluctant sale of my very unique roof tent. It is THE talking point of any campsite / festival so perhaps not for you if you are shy / private. I only wish I could have used it more often. The ladder supplied with the tent was good for the Freelander (approx 1.86m high with roof rails). The ladder can be angled steeper or less steep to a certain amount but if your vehicle is substantially higher / lower you may need a block of wood or an angle grinder to lop a bit off the bottom of the ladder. The ladder is part of the structure once the tent is erected so I always used to put a small plank of decking under the ladder anyway. I have seen another MY WAY tent mounted on a pick up truck with the ladder attached to the bull bars which was very cool looking. The ladder is part of the structure once the tent is erected so best advise your mates not to take the ladder away for a bit of “fun” in the middle of the night. Once erect the tent was excellent for 2 x 90Kg guys and a crate of beer. The tent is heavy, will increase your fuel consumption and may affect the handling of your vehicle but IT IS GREAT FUN !!!! I recall that the flysheet fixing had come away at one corner but this can be easily fixed. PLEASE NOTE: I used this tent on my old Land Rover Freelander with after market roof rails and had LOVED IT - I was given to believe most vehicles could easily support the tent and two adults, there are various places on the net that can give more detailed advice. ANY installation and use of this tent is at the sole discretion and risk of the buyer. Check the maximum STATIC and DYNAMIC roof weights for your vehicle. If you purchase this tent you will need the following:- Either a van to put it in or roof rails (some adjustment of the tent mountings may be required). If you are taking it home on the roof of your car, you will need TWO adults to take it off when you get home. It weighs approx. 55Kg which feels a lot heavier when you are lifting it at arms length onto your vehicle. The 4 steel brackets (they are functional, they aren’t fancy) to mount the tent to your roof rails are supplied with the tent. You will need a 10mm spanner. Once on roof, takes one person less than 3 minutes to erect. Approx. 55Kg
