From our Master Collection. Top grade Hermann Oak leather! Made in Texas! This is a seat-rigged saddle which means that the leather on the seat extends down below the skirt and has the rigging hardware built right into it. The stirrup leathers come out through the seat which provides an amazing range of motion. Many normal built saddles make it difficult to swing your stirrups forward. Forward swing is especially helpful when training horses with exaggerated cues, riding a bronc, cutting cattle, or descending steep grades.
This saddle is really well built. Most of the leather is doubled (2 layers) to minimize stretch and everything is double stitched. The tree is solid wood wrapped in rawhide and has the larger ranch-style horn.
Please NOTE: Because there is very little seat jockey leather to hide the top of the fenders (on this type of saddle), it is especially important to know the rider's inseam. The rivets will show at the top of the fender, if these stirrups are extended long enough for taller riders. Exposed rivets does not effect the function in any way however it just doesn't look quite as nice. This particular saddle has shorter fenders. (Measurement from the center of the seat to the stirrup tread is 35" - see pic). I am 5' 11" with a 33" inseam and these stirrups are a little short for me. I would recommend it for 31" inseam or less. If you are interested in this saddle but have a longer inseam, you have 2 options. We can make longer fenders for you and fit them to this saddle (lead time 3 wks), OR we can build your own custom saddle with longer fenders (lead time approx 6 wks).
