Vintage Eddie Bauer Custom Grade Kara Koram Blizzard Proof 100% Premium Quality Goose Down Expedition Sleeping Bag - Like New ConditionI am the original owner of this expedition quality sleeping bag that I purchased in the early 1970's directly from the Eddie Bauer Expedition company. I only used it for one night in a sub 20 deg. snow storm. I was uncomfortably warm. Unfortunately I never had the occasion to use it in the sub-zero conditions for which it was intended. I believe you would be comfortable in this bag at -20 F to -30F.
The bag is flawless. It has always been stored with great care, unstuffed completely expanded in a cool dry no-smoke home. There are no spots or wear points of any type. Included is the original Eddie Bauer stuff sack and owner brochure. There is also a small brochure listing numerous world famous early expeditions where this bag was the choice. At the time this was the best available expedition bag. The bag is insulated with “100% New Premium Quality Goose Down.” This bag is the tall size. The internally measured length is 75 inches toe to neck and 86 inches toe to top of hood. With it laid flat the width is 60 inches at the shoulder. The loft measures a remarkable 11+ inches.
Given the perfect condition of the bag it’s certainly of collector quality. Otherwise it’s a fantastic totally useable bag with many grand expeditions left in it.
