Die Extrema Ratio Police SM ist, wie der Name schon sagt, ein Messer, das sehr gut geeignet ist für Rettungsmannschaften oder Polizisten. SM steht für 'Soccorritore Militare", italienisch für "militärische Retter". Die Klinge ist mit einem Tantopunkt ausgestattet, der bei anspruchsvollem Gebrauch nicht so schnell beschädigt wird. Neben dieser Klinge hat das Police SM ein automatisch ausklappbares Messer, um Sicherheitsgurte durch zu schneiden, Kleidung zu entfernen, usw. Der Punkt ist stumpf, so dass keine Verletzungen verursacht werden. Das Messer klappt nicht völlig auseinander, sondern stoppt in einem Stand, der ideal ist, um jemanden zu befreien.Dass Extrema Ration Rettungsmannschaften ernst nimmt, ergibt sich aus der Tatsache, dass sogar ein Skalpell mit der Police SM geliefert wird. Ein Halter kann auf das Messer montiert werden. An dem Halter wird die separat mitgelieferte und einfach auszuwechselnde Operations-Klinge befestigt. Diese ist für Notoperationen gedacht.
