This is my wife’s saddle, purchased in 1992, with the help and advice of OrthoFlex’s founder, Len Brown. Len called it the “American Outback” because it combines a comfortable, easy seat (with far less strain on one’s knee) of the Australian, with the horn of a western saddle. Bette used it on pack trips here in Wyoming and for trail riding. The horn, which she really loved, gives great help in mounting and on steep hills! (Nothing like having a solid horn to grab when the need arises!).This saddle is lovingly cared for and in very good shape. The attached shipping memo shows the original order details. OrthoFlex’s "flex panels" make it easy to fit just about any horse The original, detailed instructions and pads for hard to fit horses are included. (We've used it on tons of different horses with no adjustment necessary.) Note in the photos there are tons of places to hang all manner of stuff from. On pack trips Bette used saddle bags, a cantel bag for her rain slicker, plus hung a canteen and bear spray on either side of the horn.It also includes saddlebags made especially for Aussie saddles. The seat is black leather stitch-down, firm, but with a slight "give". There is a ring for a crupper under the cantle. All I can tell you is this has been the absolute perfect trail saddle for my wife out here in Wyoming. If you (or someone you love!) deserves the best, most comfortable, maybe even safest trail saddle here’s your chance.Ask any questions or for more photos. Includes shipping (UPS or Fedex, standard ground) within the lower 48, or pick it up at our place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and if we don’t have to feed ya we’ll knock off twenty bucks! If your looking for a steal - forget it. BUT, if you deserve a terrific, REALLY terrific, saddle - hop on this one.
