I used this quilt for one night!  It is in mint condition.  Here is the complete story. I am a lawyer, and was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (Class of 2017 in the PCT world,) and was attempting to thru hike from Mexico to Canada.  I started with a 3+ pound Western Mountaineering sleeping bag, but it was too hot to sleep comfortably.  I was burning up every night, even when I unzipped the sleeping bag.  The main resupplier for PCT thru hikers who are on the trail is Mount Laguna Sports in Mount Laguna, CA.  It does a gear shakedown at their shop, which is at about PCT mile 50.  It is the "real deal" for helping out PCT hikers lighten their back packs, as everyone who works there has long distance hiking experience. I contacted its owner, Dave, who is a mountaineer, several weeks after passing through Mount Laguna, and he recommended the Flicker 20 UL Quilt by Feathered Friends.  It is ultra light, weighing a mere 1 lb. 10 oz..  He shipped it to me in the small mountain town of Wrightwood, CA, around PCT mile 375.  The next day I climbed half way up Mount Baden-Powell, and used the quilt that night.  The following day I climbed to the summit of the mountain (9,200 feet.)  Somewhere on the way I hurt my hip, so I hiked down the mountain to the trail head, hitched a ride to Pasadena, CA and (for lack of a  better word) quit, so I could recover.
Now, about the quilt: The quilt is in absolute mint condition.  The one night I used it, I unzipped it, opened it like a blanket and slept underneath it.  I never slept "inside" of the quilt, and I the one time I used it, it was inside my tent (a Big Agnes Copperspur UL2,) which is designed with a nylon/polyester type floor material.  The quilt was never used on bare ground.  Dave advised not put the quilt in its stuff bag, as it could affect the down over time.  He recommended stuffing the bag in the bottom of my backpack while hiking, which I did for the two days I carried it on the trail. Here is what Feathered Friends website states re the Flicker 20:"Flicker 20 UL Quilt Sleeping BagWe created the Flicker to achieve maximum comfort and versatility without compromising on weight. Unzipped, it functions as a large quilt on warmer nights and is wide enough to cover two adults in a pinch. The footbox can be cinched tight and partially zipped for greater efficiency on cooler nights. At the bottom end of the temperature rating, the Flicker functions as a full center-zip mummy sleeping bag. With 900+ fill power down, the 20ºF Flicker is ideally suited for those chilly summer nights in the alpine or on a thru-hike. With Pertex® Endurance® fabric, the bag becomes even lighter and is a favorite of thru-hikers.UL: Ultralight. Pertex® Endurance® 10 denier water-resistant/breathable fabric.Availability: Select Color & Length for AvailabilityAvailability InformationFrom: $399.00"I paid $399.00 for the Quilt, plus CA sales tax.  I will mail via UPS unless I can fit the Quilt in USPS priority box. (I guessed at the dimensions for the box that I will use to ship the quilt.)
This is a very popular ultra light quilt, currently used by long distance hikers who prefer top quality gear.Note the following question from an eBay member and my response:Hello,I read in your description that you may try to fit this in a USPS Priority box. It should easily fit into one of the various sizes offered by the USPS. This bag packs down to 7" x 10"...Why am I seeing a shipping charge of $54 to Ohio? Although it's not recommended to keep it packed that small for long periods of time, I'm sure it'd be okay for a few days. Awesome bag for sure, I just wouldn't want to be obligated to pay that much for shipping. Thanks in advance. My response:

Here is my response to your question. First, thanks for calling the (excessive) shipping charge to my attention. I spoke to eBay customer service about your message a few minutes ago. The representative is giving me the option of shipping USPS priority mail or USPS Select (i.e., ground.) I have not checked the listing, but the eBay representative advised that she input the changes. USPS Select costs around $15 to Ohio (same price to ship to NYC per eBay's representative.) I assume the representative knows what she is doing, so the shipping charge to you, if you end up purchasing the quilt, should be around that amount, plus a few dollars more for insurance.I purchased a Ready Post cardboard shipping box at the local Post Office, and the sleeping bag is packed and fits nicely, without being crushed, into the box. The dimensions of the box are 15" x 12" x 10." I hope I have resolved your question.
